On March 6th, 2019, Coeur Rochester hosted Bureau of Land Management members from the Nevada State and Winnemucca District Offices, and Casey Hammond, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management at the Department of Interior for an informational site tour.
The group toured the mine site and viewed an open pit blast, reclaimed areas, and several aspects of the Rochester operation. The group asked questions about the operation, the workforce and the pending Plan of Operations Amendment number 11 (POA 11) that, once permitted, will allow Rochester to maintain its current workforce and continue full production at the mine for at least an additional ten years.
“This tour is a great example of the positive relationship Coeur Rochester has with the BLM, our state regulatory agencies, and our surrounding communities.” – Jay Gear, Vice President of Environment, Health & Safety
